Wildlife Ecologist/Ecologis (m/w/d) for the project

Space-time Behaviour of large Predators in relation to human Disturbance

Due to strict protection, wolves have been spreading across Europe in recent years. They are increasingly colonizing multi-use landscapes dominated by human structures and activities. To survive in these landscapes, the predators must learn to deal with human disturbances, including roads and settlements, land management, hunting and recreational activities. This project aims to investigate how wolves adapt on different temporal and spatial scales and whether observations of wolves increased in landscapes heavily dominated by humans. Data from camera traps, telemetry and social media will be used to answer these questions. Experimental approaches will also be applied to address the questions.

The sought-after employee will be responsible for planning, implementing and coordinating the project, analyzing the data, publishing the results in international journals and presenting them at conferences. Supervision of bachelor's and master's students is also part of the range of tasks.
