Welcome to the Bavarian Forest National Park! In our page navigation you will find a range of informative hints for your trip into wild nature. Let yourself be taken on an exciting journey into Germany's oldest national park. Whether pleasures outdoors, visits to museums, experiencing animals or participation in guided tours - we offer you a wide range of activities.

Visitors can approach nature in a variety of ways. The top priority is of course hiking. We maintain about 350 kilometers of marked hiking trails. But the national park can also be explored on two wheels. Cyclists can ride on routes of more than 200 kilometers. During the wintertime, the National Park is predestined for snowshoers and cross-country skiers. For great outdoor experience, you can find selected references in our tour tip.

We also conduct some interesting visitor facilities. National Park Center Lusen and National Park Center Falkenstein with their animal enclosures are central points of contact. An excursion to the Forest History Museum or the forest playground is worthwhile too.

In addition, our bulging event calendar is at your disposal with guided tours and further events. We also assembled some useful advice regarding excursions with children or handicapped people. Click Vacation to find information about hotels, restaurants, shelters and our national-park-partners.
